My new snugglesafe has just arrived today and apparently the temperature is set to drop tonight so thinking of getting it going straight away. The problem is I only have 1 as needed to spread out the cost of them.

Should I still go ahead and pop it in and hope they can share or should I wait to avoid arguments over it? They seem to spend most of their sleep time together in the hay hut which is a 2x1 c&c loft and is covered with an old fleece dressing gown; at the moment it feels quite warm in there as it's full of hay and covered, I'm worried that if I put the snugglesafe in there it might get too warm for them.

I feel like my options are either:

1. Wait until I have 2 snugglesafes and then decide where to place them then (this will be in a week or two's time) and put in extra hay in the meantime.

2. Put it in their hay hut as it is.

3. Put it in the cage elsewhere, maybe with their pigloo over it or a large snugglesack on it.

Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts are to help me decide?!

Thanks!

I would put it in, if one decides it wants to be on top, the other will most likely lay next to it. If they get warm they will move away. I am sure you have a cover for it also. Mine have never argued over the heat pads.

Thank you! That's good to know. And I've just remembered they do actually have a hay rack elsewhere if it gets too warm in there they can still get hay to munch if they want it. And of course they have other places to sleep! :)

Snugglesafes are fantastic but pretty expensive. I found this tutorial on youtube a while ago showing how to make heatpads out of socks. They don't stay warm for anywhere near as long as a snugglesafe but would be a lot cheaper.
