hello so i have had my neutured boar for 6 months (hes 9 months) and i have recently picked up my new sow (3 months). Everything was going well so i moved their cages closer and they were looking and smelling eachother through the bars untill my boar nipped my sow. I thought this could have been an accident until it happened twice more, i have since seperated their cages. he didnt draw any blood and she seems fine and is even trying to still get to him (she cant). is this normal? and how do i stop them from getting hurt? any advice apprecated as this is my first time bonding piggies.

Welcome to the forum

Just to double check, is he six weeks post neuter safe?

Bonding is done by them being put in a neutral territory pen together.
It’s a good idea to have them side by side so they can get to know each other but that only needs to be for a day or two prior to them going into neutral territory together. As the sow is under four months old she really needs to be bonded to him properly - babies shouldnt be by themselves so she is likely desperate for company.

I have added the bonding guide below which explains what you need to do about putting them both in a neutral territory pen.
You cannot use their cages to Carry out the bonding as the are not neutral
