Well, Soon 2 sows will be delivered. They are about 15 months old and they are coming here from a decent home - just not enough attention. I was wondering, do you think putting them with Luna will be okay?Luna and the baby girls that Luna had, and then the 2 sisters that are coming? It will be in a huge c&c cage when I Put them together with lots of houses and things like that.. I was just wondering about other peoples luck with introducing adult sows together, and also there will be babies too, Ithink.
 
That should be fine but they will need to be quarantined in a seperate room for preferably 3 weeks so that if they are carrying anything it won't be transferred to your other piggies. Do this no matter how healthy they look - it takes this long for things like URIs to appear.
 
Okie dokie. So that gives me time to build my c&c cages;
What are signs of URIs?
 
If luna has pulled out most of her hair and is not feeding her babies and realy unhappy, I'm sorry but i dont understand why you are taking more in?!?!? You need to put the welfare of the piggies you have currently in your care above those outside it, thats the way rescue is!

Dont put anything else in with luna for the time being, she i having enough trouble with the tots, just sort her out first eh? ;)
 
I didn't know this was going on until literally a 1/2 hour ago!
 
Yeah sorry hun I thought you were this end, wasnt being nasty or anything, just saying luna needs some lOOOOVIN ;D
 
Oh man, does she. :( poor girl. She got her fix of food and water and is now back to nursing. Maybe she just needed some relief of the pain and some time to herself for a few..


Taking Looney and her bubs to the vet tomorrow - hopefully to get her some pain relief and the like.
