The Story: In 1991 i was born, my parents got married and my dad, at the age of 21 wrote and recorded his first album. On the cover of the album there was a silhouette of my dad holding his guitar which he had designed. He now has this silhouette tattooed on his bicep. The album was in part dedicated to me and the sentiment and the music means a lot to me and as i only met my dad when i was 7 we have been making up a lot for lost time. Despite the fact we live 250 miles away from each other we are pretty close. My dad since then produced three girls and so after him there wont be anyone to carry on our family name... he only has one brother who has no children. I'v wanted for a while to get the same silhouette tattooed onto me somewhere so that even when i get married i will still have that link to my own heritage (if that makes any sense) so even when i give up my surname, I'll still have a part of it with me!
Today i got up and since it was my birthday yesterday i had some spare cash. I phoned my dad and told him what i intended to do, I have never heard him more chuffed, gave me complete permission to use the image and said he was really proud and choked up. We went to Angels in Middlesbrough and a lovely lass called Mel tattooed the two inch silhouette onto the inside of my right wrist... I absolutely love it and now i can ensure that despite giving up my second name i can still recognise my own family and roots
Anyways here is a pic and sorry for going for so long... Just thought it might be nice to tell people about why i got my new tattoo instead of just posting pictures of it
thanks guys x
