Hello all,
I am in the horrible process of waiting for all things for my first C&C cage to be delivered, and once I have this cage I will be adopting 2 more piggies, I have ordered an 8foot by 4foot piece of correx (or whatever you want to call it), and was wondering, if the new boys I'm adopting don't get on with toffee, will there be enough space for the piggies to have room to run and enough room in general, if I have to divide the cage. This may sound confusing (because it does to me) but as always any help is appreciated.

How big are you making the cage? How many pigs in total? If you have to divide the cage, make sure you at least have 2x3 grids for the lone pig, or 2x4 if you have to split by pairs.

Erm well, I will be using the 8foot by 4 foot correx with about 3 inch sided and I will have in all 3 pigs.

3 boars?

and if 3" is taken off the 8x4, that makes it 7.5'x3.5' floor or rather pen space for them to move about in - that is taking 3" off each side of the correx, assuming you are going for a rectangle.

That's a pretty big cage. It should be fine if you have to split the cage. Don't split them unless there's bloodshed. Some dominance behaviors look scary to us, but it's important for them to work it out.

Since you're going to be adopting two more pigs, don't put your original pig in the new cage yet. It will be easier for the intro if they all get into the new cage at the same time. (nobody's territory)

Here are some good info on introducing boars.

PS. Don't forget to quarantine the new pigs in a separate room for 3 weeks. (unless they are coming from a reputable rescue that have already quarantined them)

Yes there will be 3 boars, which is why I'm so nervous lol, thanks for the clarification of the sizes

Yes, the boar I have now, is still in his own cage and will remain to be until the new arrivals, I'm glad the cage will be big enough, and the boy's I'm adopting are from the same litter and have been together all their lives, which I'm thankful for, and I will try not to worry too much about the dominance, but this being the first time I have introduced new pigs, I'm really worrying now and they aren't even here yet! Oh well I'm sure it will be a great experience thanks so much for your help!
