Hi i have been reading the posts here for a couple of months in preperation for my new additions, and i must say in general to everyone who has posted threads and replys THANKYOU i have learnt alot more here rather than in the books i have read. Today whilst my daughter is away for the weekend i became the owner of 2 gorgeous baby sows, no names as of yet (better leave that decision to the real boss of the house!) but they seem to be settling in well, i dont want to rush them so have really left them be for this evening but will slowly introduce myself over the next few days, have plenty of fresh lovely veg for bribes! Well Thankyou all again I'm sure i will be posting alot in the future for advice etc if i get the camera working i might even post a few pics because as a proud mother i do think they are the most beautiful babies. Thanks again x>>

Welcome! Please post pigtures! I know lots of lovey piggy names and can come up with thousands if need be. I agree though, guinea pigs are addictive! I started with two, then a couple of months later I ended up going to a pet shop for some hay and came out with two more "):red My OH was with me though and we did both instantly fall in love with all four and wouldn't be without any of them now.

Lots of love from Claire, Pheobe, Ruby, Bethany and Maggie-May xxxxx

Hello and welcome, I'm sure you're daughter will be ecstatic and have no problems thinking of names my daughters also always have the privilege of pet naming in our house which means all the boys get girl names but they don't seem to mind as long as they get fed:)

Oh i feel so loved never had such a fabulous welcome before...Thankyou. well its day number two and all going fine both still very friendly they dont seem to be drinking much but have made sure there is plenty of cucumber so hope it balances out. I'm thinking i need more things for them to do in the hutch any suggestions, ive got nibble toys but both seem to find fighting over whos going to sit in the hay rack far more exciting, definately going to have problems when bums start getting bigger or maybe ill just get a bigger hay rack...daughters coming home tomorrow cant wait shes going to be so happy...Thanks again

Hiya, sounds like they are settling in well!

hmm as for toys, mine love fleecy blankets to snuggle up in/on, toilet roll tubes stuffed with hay, chubes, willow balls are a favourite (mine dont seem to like the sticks, just the balls fussy little things!)

some piggies dont drink much mine didnt as babies, some dont now they get quite a lot of water from thier veggies :)

And hi from me ... welcome to the forum.

You will be addicted too very soon, both to piggies and the forum! :)):))

After reading through other newbies questions etc, i decided to move the cage into the living come dining area, i know i have only had them 2 days but very eager to have them feel comfortable around me and my daughter and our comings and goings dont want them having heart attacks at every noise.....so. so far this seems to be a good move already they are quite happy to carry on with what they are doing when i walk pass and am quite happy now to have seen them using the water bottle and fight over a piece of cucumber, bigger news since the daughter has come home we now have names DAISY and PRINCESS I'm just happy it wasnt anything from high school musical.....Anyway good night all xx>>>

Awww, that's brilliant news!! :) And so happy that they have names at last!
