New Years Eve - if you are on your own join me!

Lovely thread. I don’t stay awake for new year but I’ll definitely join you in the evening for a natter. My two children have both moved out this year so it’s been a different festive time this year.

We usually stay up and watch the Big Ben bongs and the fireworks. This year we have a friend coming over, but I imagine it will be a quiet evening nonetheless- a new year on the calendar doesn't seem a particularly good reason for wild celebrations... So I expect I will be popping in and out of the forum (and this thread) during the evening

You say you can't wait for them to leave home , but it comes around all too quickly, and then you get the empty nest syndrome! And it's terrible.

I've never had the empty nest syndrome. Maybe I'm an unfeeling b*tch! I do love Sons 1, 2 and 3 and it's lovely when they come home.

I’m recovering from an enjoyable but exhausting December. I’m under the weather and me and Mr A will be home alone tomorrow evening as both sons are away. I’ll try to pop on this thread. We should be able to compare drinks/snacks. Not sure I’ll make it to midnight but you never know.

Hey everyone. What’s everyone up too? I’ve just cooked a roast lamb dinner for my husband and MIL. Just finishing off with a glass of wine and tiramisu.

I’ve visited my daughter before she headed off for a New Years Eve Party. Phoned my son and wished him happy new year. Called my parents and wished them a happy new year too. My mum has dementia. So that’s hard at this time of year. Well all year actually.

Happy New Year everyone.
I’m just chilling this evening.
Worked most of the day and now I’m on sabbatical until mid March 🎉

Just finished a lovely meal my husband made and plan on a lazy evening, maybe catch up on some of the older Dr Who episodes on iPlayer

Happy New Year to everyone, hope it’s a great one!

I am sat in my pj’s nice and cosy. I’ll be having a glass of wine later and a few snacks. Have my son and his family and my Mum for most of the day tomorrow so won’t be up late. Grandkids will be staying over tomorrow night so it will be an exhausting 48 hours

We had a lovely big lunch, so tea was help yourself to whatever!
Piggies have had some veg & trying their best to get more.
We are being sloths & deciding if we fancy a movie.
Staying up late too keep piggies company over fireworks.

Happy new year 🥳

Just finished eating a roast beef dinner. For once the beef turned out ok and there’s absolutely loads left for dinners next year!
Just me & him at home tonight. I’ve got a bottle of M & S cocktail chilling in the fridge. We’ve got more snacks than you can shake a stick at left over from Xmas so the evening’s food and beverages are sorted. Not sure what’s on TV. We went rogue earlier & watched the film Last Orders on one of the streaming services. Not at all festive but a really good watch.

I've had a very quiet day and sitting on the sofa trying to find something to watch on tv. My piggies are all lined up at the end of their enclosure, staring at me as they haven't been fed for such a long time (lol) - about 30 minutes! They had some salad snacks.
I've already finished off a glass of wine and will probably have a hot chocolate later. Previous new years eves have seen me in bed by 11pm as I'm not that keen on the day itself

Happy new year everyone!
We usually never stay up until midnight on NYE but we have a poorly piggy, Lavender has had some bladder troubles recently and was scanned and xrayed and diagnosed with stones yesterday and has 10 days of baytril before surgery.
Typical bank holiday poorly piggy syndrome, 2nd day of antibiotics today and her tummy is not doing well, so probiotics and syringe feeds on the menu for our new year party... happy to see in 2024 at home with the piggies but wish our big purple girl was in more if a party mood...

I’m in the pub. We came in at 6.30 to get a table. It was really quiet but is packed now and they have a new girl behind the bar who’s really struggling and I feel so sorry for her that they’ve put her on tonight as the girl working with her is getting annoyed with her. Hub is busy chatting so I’ll be popping in and out of the forum all evening.

Aw I hope Lavender feels better soon and that her surgery goes well @PigglePuggle

Have a good one everyone x

Just having some stollen and a cuppa. Watching Antiques Roadshow atm. OH is looking to watch a Bond Film

The piggies are all fed and watered, let’s see how long that lasts before someone attempts to go into the kitchen 😁

So sorry to read this about Lavender. Poor girl. And poor you, too xx

Sorry to read that Lavender is suffering. I hope the meds work and she gets back to her normal self very soon. Sending hugs

Sorry the news about Lavender isn’t good.
She’s in the best possible hands with you and Piggy Daddy. Hope the meds work quickly
