Hi guys, i wanted to introduce myself and my piggies. My name is Ruth and I recently acquired 2 male piggies through a friend of mine. The boys are a year old, (came from pets@home 
) my friend had no idea how to look after them, she bought them a nero 4 cage to go indoors, but soon got fed up of them smelling. I told her they just needed cleaning out more often! They went outside in the garden in a 5ft double hutch, never to come out again unless I went round.
The boys are both long haired and were always in a terrible state when I visited, I always spent half an hour trying to cut the cots and knots out of their hair my friend had no confidence in catching and holding them, they didn't have access to a run and I was finally fed up of her moaning about feeding them (yes just feeding them was annoying to her) and cleaning them out that I said I would take them home with me.
Luckily my mum agreed to me having them and they have been here about a month, looking much better after regular grooming/haircut and cleaning out and they love going in their run!

I have not had guinea pigs since I was little so any general advice would be greatly received!
also if anyone knows what breed/type my gorgeous boys are, I would like to know!

I think the boys must be shelties as neither of them has a crown at the top of their heads, Elvis' hair, on his head, usually sticks straight up like a mohican, but it got that long he could hardly see, so I keep it short now!
