So we have had our two girls around about 3 weeks now and after not having piggies since I was a teenager I have noticed a few thing that have amused me. These girls are in our living room so there is a lot of time spent with them, which is lovely.

  • They are so chatty! So many different little noises. I have been googling them and thankfully it turns out they are happy content noises
  • They can run really fast, they charge about like puppies on their mad moments and love hopping and popping
  • They LOVE soft things, fleece beds, blankets etc – I never knew this!
  • They could not care less about the dog. Bless him he is very calm and non-threatening and they are safe from him… they just are not scared of him at all :D
  • They pee loads!
  • They’re getting so confident.
  • I love them more than I thought I would

They are sweet, intelligent little animals. Mine are also in the living room so we constantly interact with them and I love seeing their interactions with us and with each other. They are far more interesting as pets than a lot of people think!

I'm having the same experience here and I agree with everything you said! Also, I'm very excited about how well they respond to everything, as I was expecting them to be way more skittish.

Mine get pretty excited after I clean their cage and sometimes popcorn even when I'm just talking to them, it's so sweet!

Oh, and they wake me up every day at 6:30 to get food. That is not so amazing, haha. I love them so much already!

Ours are in our living room too, we gave up television 4 years ago because we found we were watching the piggies more than TV. They are certainly more entertaining!

If pets shops could just sell minimum cage sizes starting at 120 and make sure every owner buys a pair of pigs, then things could start to be different on the views of guinea pigs. 2 things is all it would take 🤔
