Good morning

Would like comments / constructive criticism regarding the cage I have recently setup for our 2 new adopted boys please. Also, finding out that piggies prefer hay that has been wee'd on, when should I actually remove the hay ... when it is wet, or just do it periodically, once or twice per week? ... I remove the poo twice daily. And also the, to use fleece or not to use fleece, would I be best just putting down a load of hay (I have used pond liner for the base of the cage).

Many thanks, Kirsty

Hay needs to be removed when it is wet.

What bedding you use really comes down to what you and your piggies prefer! These are pros and cons to each. Bedding For Guinea Pigs - Overview this link should help you.

Hay as bedding means that you have to be able to dispose of it, you will go through a lot and it.
Fleece needs to be washed every few days, it can clog up your washing machine (using a washing bag is recommended), washing machine disinfecting will be required. But, it is often the preferred method for indoor piggies.
