This past Thursday, a Susie-stork flew over my flat and dropped a guinea pig into my arms.

meet newPig, who will be meeting miniPig (koda) and Cashew in a few weeks time.

So far, newPig has shown off his love of brushes, destroyed the neatness of his cage by burrowing in the fleece *glowers at him* and nipped me while I was clipping his nails (I'm the worst thing to ever happen to a guinea pig). He hasn't peed on me, though I'm sure he's put that on his list of things to do. "Hey, woman, if I'm living with you, you'd better smell like me!"

More - better - pictures will come later.

He isn't going to be newPig forever, his name is still under contemplation although the majority vote is Oreo so far.

A proper personality, that one! I like Oreo, it's very unusual and suits his striking looks!

Thank you guys! Last night he came out for a cuddle before I had to go to work. Weekends will be awful for the poor guy because everyone in my flat works their little rockers off (we pull 1pm - 4am split shifts) so it must be so quiet and boring for him; no wonder he's learned to burrow beneath his fleece.

I'm going to bring him out into the living room for a while for some human-on-pig floor time while my own two boys have their floor time later in the hall. I totally understand how hard it is when people come over and say "All pigs are healthy - can't I just break quarantine?" But boyToy will be back today soon and he'll spend a lot of time in his room again :)
