Newspaper....

Sorry this maybe in the wrong place...but I'm new to piggies and am starting to get use to my boys habits and personalities...i have a question about newspaper.....
I use newspaper saw dust and hay in the bottom of their cage....the last few days they have been pulling at the newspaper and eating it....is there a reason for this....are they lacking something in their diets etc to make them do it or are they doing it for the sake of doing it?

My boys just do it for the sake of doing it. I think they just like chewing it, they'd do the same with cardboard as well. I suppose they just see newspaper and they're like drool drool drool I personally wouldn't eat it but then who knows what goes on in the mind of our beloved pets?

Bertie has had a lovely time today! I sorted him out early as we went shopping this afternoon, nice clean newspaper (Daily Mail) sawdust and hay. He has chewed his paper and looks as if he has been underneath it. He is a right mess!

I think the ink in the newspapers of my country might be VERY harmful to my piggy x>>

No it shouldnt harm them the ink level is very low that theyd have to eat ALOT to harm them plus there digestive system works that quick its in and out their system within an hour or so. Dont worry dittos 4 now and has eaten it all his life aswell as part of a plastic bin liner (dont ask!) and hes fine!
