Ok, so ever since I let my 11 year old niece Megan have a cuddle with a few of my boys.. she has decided "she wants 'one'". "A girl 'one'".

I keep trying to tell her, nicely.. that if she wants guinea pigs.. she should get at least two. She's 100% sure she wants a girl, and that she only wants one!

I guess the only way is to talk to her parents? Show them the sites, etc. I'd rather talk them out of it by uh, maybe it sounds a bit scary (Expensive medical bills etc) to keep them out since I don't think she sounds like she is matured enough to keep Guinea Pigs. No offenses, just a thought.

I would speak to her parents and make them aware of the fact that piggies are social animals and require a friend. Also, make them aware of the costs involved with piggies and the implications. Hopefully that will put them off.

Perhaps suggest a hamster for now, in the hope it teaches her about looking after animals and then when she's older and hopefully more mature, they can consider piggies.
