I'm utterly heartbroken to share the devastating news that Nellie died in the early hours of this morning.
Some of you know that Nellie had been fighting a nasty kidney infection, and was doing well in recent weeks. She was lively, eating well, pooping well, and enjoying the nice weather: despite this, we were concerned that her weight wasn't increasing and had made an appointment to see Simon. Last night she didn't seem to be herself, although she was still happily eating and giving me nose kisses. I made up a cage in my bedroom for her, and in the very early hours she had one last cuddle and passed away.
She leaves behind her sister, Elma, and grazing-neighbours, River, Elphie, and Glinda. She is reunited with her surrogate mother/father, Nelson, her Aunties Amy and Ace, and is finally able to meet her uncles Freddie and Ringo.
