Ok so let m start off by saying this guinea pig is 2-3 months old so he is growing and that might be why he is eating so much. But here is the thing, my other pig who is younger than him eats less. Every single time I open the fridge he goes ballistic. He eats literally everything. He does eat and sleep in his hay but for some reason he will not eat the long pieces and will only eat the short dusty ones. But he is eating a lot. I can not tell if I am starving him, I don’t think I am cause I do feed him every time he goes ballistic. His main food is cucumber and he eats 4 thin slices in seconds whenever I give it to him. I swear he is like a vacuum. I am going to the store to get more food tomorrow. What veggies should I get that might fill him more? He also has a bit of an issue with nipping. you know like nibbles on you because your fingers look like carrots. But sometimes he bites REALLY HARD and I don’t even think he knows how much pain it causes. Not to mention his claws. They are really sharp but to close to the pink line. Is it possible for me to round them out and make them less sharp with a nail file instead? IDK but there has to be a change because between his nails and his nipping every time I take him out of the cage, I put him back with pain. My entire left arm is marked up from him. But I do know that the nipping is cause he thinks my fingers are carrots since he only licks my nose and never bites it. Too many problems.
