Anyone got some ideas to stop Pixal doing this. He hates being picked up and held. He will nip at my hands fingers arms pretty much anywhere. He's a wild character around 7 months old.he will do anything to get away. I'm finding it hard getting this boy to be at ease with me. The other5 are fine with me.

Any advice?

Hi love when you go to pick him up, try sliding your hand under his butt first with a towel and then scooping him up, give him a treat and talk quietly to him, reassure him........ make it a nice time for him.
It could be that he's just a nippy pig? I tick off my girls if either of them go to nip me........not loudly just firmly a quick NO and then i find they look up at you and then i say, NO softly to whoever it is :)
By having the treats he might realise that your hand is the nice lovely hand :)

I find that wrapping them in a small fleece blanket or one of those cuddle pouches works really well.
One of my boys nips and this is how I've gotten around it...He then just chews on the fleece instead of me {:|

Can you pick him up in a cosy and have him in there while you cuddle him? Most guinea pigs like confined spaces. Also give him lots of praise!

I used this contraption here for extremely nervous Llewelyn and then again for Nerys and Nia while they still had their razor sharp baby claws and were very skittish (they had been unloved, unhandled children's pets before).

I think that he is pretty much a nipper character. lol he doesn't like his backside being touched he hasn't got lice or anything just doesn't like it lol cables the same. Ill get on making a cosy carrier cos my hands can't take the nipping anymore.
