Nizoral For Fungus

My boar had pretty bad mange mites and was treated with ivermectin. he was showing improvement after 2 doses, but his nose still has a bunch of scabs and white scaby crust. I am pretty sure it is fungus. I want to treat him with nizoral shampoo. How do I? Can I put it on his nose? What about his body? Will the ivermectin react with it? I just treated him with revolution about a week ago.

I strongly advise you get your guinea pig checked by a vet . This will make sure he gets the right dosage as well as the right treatment.

Hi! Please have your boy seen for a proper diagnosis and do not treat on spec. Both fungal and mange mites are not uncommon to be present together in badly neglected guinea pigs.

You can't use any topical skin treatment within at least 48 hours of each other, or it will not work fully. You also need to carefully bathe/dip the whole body, but be very careful around any sensitive organs like eyes, mouth and ears and use a cotton bud if necessary.
