No Broccoli?

Hey everyone, I have another question. ^-^; Um, my guinea pigs don't seem to like broccoli. They nibble at what I put in their dish every now and then, but neither of my girls seem to like it. I know they're not hungry cause they'll just eat some pellets or alfalfa hey. Is that normal? Is there something I could replace broccoli with? The only other thing i've fed them as far as veggitables is carrot. Any suggestions on what else to try? And is it harmful for me to give them carrots every day?
Thank you for your help.

Hi Charlie,

I give my pigs 6 different veggies a day then another 6 the following day. What I realised is it is everything in moderation. Carrots are ok but not everyday maybe 2-4 a week. I give brocolli 1-2 a week because it can be quite gassy.

Cucumber is a firm favourite in our house as is celery, green pepper (a quarter per pig gives them enough vitamin c for the day). Cabbage and Kale are liked too but again they are gassy so just 1-2 a week.

Corn, green beans, dandilion leaves, yellow pepper (not red as red has sugar in it), melon, pear, apple ( not too much fruit because of sugar and some fruits make mouths soar). Lettuce, Romaine is liked as is curly lettuce I never give iceburg as it does nothing for them.

The diet should be 80% Hay, 15% Veggies and 5% Dried.

My 2 absolutely love broccoli. I'll stop giving them it so much so as didn't realise it was gassy. That's a brilliant list of food though - I'll get them something different for a wee change (they don't just get broccoli by the way they do get lots of different veg/fruit). O0

Usually piggies may like the stalks but not the heads, so trying cutting up the stalks and see it they eat that O0

As has already been said, there is something called a 'guinea pig shopping list' as a post on the food section that tells you lots of new things you can try! O0

Thanks so much for your help, and thanks for the food list. I'll be sure to consult it when shopping.
But, is there such a thing as too much vitamin C? I mean, their food is high in it, they get unlimited alfalfa grass, and then they get veggitables. When is it too much?
