No hurry but... we have space for 1 or 2 more female piggies!

Just wanted to flag up that following a recent spell of sad losses due to old age, cancer, and just... piggy friends never living as long as we wish they did... we have vacancies in my herd, just 5 piggies left now in an 11x2 C&C cage which is loads of space...
We still have:
Blod the recently promoted boss lady age 5, Theo the submissive friendly husboar age 5, beautiful feisty old Aunty Luna Floof age almost 7, then relative youngsters big daft fatty Lavender age 3 and new sporty girl Hatty age 2.
We aren't in a massive hurry to add extra piggies but... we easily have space for an extra girl or two, and we don't mind taking on traumatised/ neglected/ disabled/ expensive vet bill piggies, the only requirement is they hopefully slot in to an established group- if anyone knows of any female babies or bereaved oldies in particular who might benefit from an established ready made piggy family... we have space, too much space, not enough pigs...

Yes we did at one point briefly have 11 piggies as 2 pairs and a herd of 7, but we only did that knowing some bereavements/terminal diagnoses were looming... the past year we've lost 6... I'd prefer to keep just the 1 big cage and 1 group at the moment, but 5 piggies are looking a bit sparse and folorn in the 11x2 palace... they are a sociable crew who generally accept anypig who isnt overtly aggressive, and are actually quite tolerant of accidental initial fear aggression as long as it calms down with space and reassurance.
They like eating hay as a big group, also since their recent bereavements they have taken to sleeping together in a big furry wee soaked smelly piggy heap crammed into one castle house just to make sure the grim wheeker doesnt take anyone else during the night! Which is adorable, but sad, that they are all guarding each other and weeing on each other so they know where everypig is...

Here's my current remaining piggies, eating dinner just now.. and then there were 5... I miss the others individually of course, but I miss the huge furry gang aspect especially, just a sea of wheeks and whiskers at dinner time and I could barely put the plates down for helpful piggy noses and inquisitive teethies!

No sows at present in the Potteries GPR to my knowledge but will make sure Helen is aware you’re in the lookout.
We aren't looking-looking, but... we have space, especially for any piggies who might not be well enough or young enough or human-socialised enough for general rehoming... we like the wonky piggies and are also very fond of mad crusty old ladies :)

Oh my goodness, Lavender looks pregnant there LOL

Any piggy would be very lucky to have a home with you.

We’re also looking for a single sow. Only one rescue who has replied has some so far but they said they can’t guarantee that they won’t be pregnant because background is unknown! So I’m guessing they don’t do pregnancy watch which is worrying and not sure it’s something we can risk.

They do have a four year old sow who needs extra care because of tummy lumps. She looks sweet. Might be worth a look for you? The rescue is in Lancashire.

Good luck with your search :)

That just paints the pigture. It'll be a very lucky pig or two who get to join your gang!

I used to have a herd of 5, and that's slowly decreased to my remaining two who are now OAPs at 5. They're really missing Wenlock who we lost just over a fortnight ago and have taken to guarding each other (at a bit of a distance) just in case the other one disappears. Agatha and Christie came to me as a 'pair' from the Blue Cross, but I don't think they've ever been best friends. Joining the larger group helped them buddy up with the other pigs - now they're stuck with each other again.......

Just putting this out there.

Ginger & Cocoa are 3 year old sisters. Ginger is the most confident of the pair. They are chunky girls, who love their food. Cocoa has "fatty eye" which is a non problematic condition of her left eye. They are friendly and have such potential to be amazing additions to any family or even a larger herd.

Could these ladies be perfect for your family?

Two little old ladies Ginny and Scutte with wonky ovaries here
I was going to post this too but wondered if they are too far away. Winter is new and is a 2yo girly, she has been treated for a cyst on her side.
Ginny and scuttle were reserved but there was a chance Ginny was going to be PTS as she was having blood in pee. As the girls are still on there, perhaps they might be available.

I can vouch for this rescue as I have helped transport piggies in need to them. 😃 Thought I would post as this as they are not on the recommended rescue list.

Oh I didn’t know this, let’s hope these poor little old ladies find a lovely home. A friend of mine gets all her piggies from this rescue and says it’s a super charity 😊
