Yesterday, our 6 Guinea Pigs were placed on some very long grass and within 15 minutes they had eaten the lot! We've now realised we can just move them round the garden daily to keep the grass short for us. This is great as we can now relax in the garden and enjoy the sunshine whilst they do all the work! :))

Mind you, they leave a lot of poop on the floor afterwards which you have to be careful not to step on!

But the poop is great compost so I've been told so your lawn will be in fabulous condition :))

My lawn hasn't seen a mower for several years now... The edges are kept trim by cutting grass with scissors on those days the piggies can't go out!

We haven't mown our lawn yet this year either. It's a bit long round the edges though!

Great isn't it?! Although half of our garden is on a slope, but they really cut the work down! Had to mow one patch yesterday though and Pigsworth looked at me like "what am i supposed to do with this?" :))

Edges

Our lot were keen to eat the cuttings from around the edges as well so we don't even have to put anything in the green recycling bin now, we have recycling GP's instead! xx>>>

this is brilliant! who needs a lawnmower when you have piggies!
i remember one time ours were in the run and my dad said "thats it pigs, keep cutting the grass, theres good dudes" :))

It is such a green way to garden and the piggies love it too. I would much rather sit and watch piggies having fun than humph a lawnmower about.

Me too!

Our grass seems to grow mega fast at the moment though, although the girls have been helping to keep the length down a bit :)

I Know what you mean - there's nothing more satisfying than watching contented guineas on the lawn. I've got 8 in four large runs - trouble is we haven't had much rain for Cumbria & they are eating the grass faster than it is growing at the moment!

My two are so little they hardly make a dent when they go out. Maybe I should get some more piggies to help out LOL rolleyes:))

Our herd can clear the run of grass in mins, then they all line up in a wee row and wheek at us demanding the run to be moved to lusher grass!
