No more I said .........

You can all keep your coats with deep pockets in your cupboards, he's mine!
I'm finding it very hard to be hands off and let him settle, there's something about grey/silver animals that I find very apealing.
yes, those Russian Blue cats are gorgeous! I always back greys on the Grand National too!

A friend of mine had a British Blue cat 40 years ago. I've wanted one ever since, she was beautiful and had a lovely temperament. My partner is allergic to some cats so I wouldn't risk one now. I did have a rescue silver agouti Rex piggie once, I agreed to take two piggies from someone my daughter worked with who could no longer keep them. I didn't see them until they arrived at the house, couldn't believe it when Bumble was lifted out of the box, his friend was a tri colour semi long haired mix he was gorgeous too. I'd have loved them whatever colour they were but these two were stunners.

Quick update. I decided to forgo the quarantine and bring Nugget downstairs and put him next to Caspy for some through the bars interaction. I'd not seen Nugget out of his bed, he was coming out to eat but only when no one was around, the food was disapearing. I felt so sorry for him havng been taken from his friends and plonked in a cage on his own with no other piggies around, he's too young for that. I'll just have to deal with any health issues should they arise from doing this. Since he's been downstairs he can hear the other piggies chattering and can see Caspy. I've never seen a piggie popcorn so much, he's going round the cage in a series of popcorns and ignoring the humans who are watching.
Will try to get some photos tomorrow when the light's better.

Could you try to bond him and Caspar and let them go through quarantine together? This is what I did with baby Begw and Dylan - they shared one of my hospital cages and had a foldable lawn run put up in the kitchen for exercise well away from the piggy room for the first couple of weeks before they were safe to move into the piggy room. This way, Begw had the company she needed but I only had one extra piggy to treat if that had become necessary.

All the best! It sounds like the little one is desperate for company and guidance!

Thanks @Wiebke I didn't think of that brilliant idea, I should have! As he's in the same room as the other's now any damage would probably have been done so I'll leave them all to their excitement. I'll try bonding early next week when I have a couple of quiet days and can be home to observe progress. I'll be sure to read your very helpful bonding guide a few times before I start to refresh my memory!

Nugget is growing really well and has overtaken Caspy who was sadly very poorly as a baby and has remained a small boar. Nugget is trying for boss slot and Caspy often looks like he wishes he'd remained a lone pig. Hopefully they will weather this hormone storm and remain friends.

Wow, hasn’t he blossomed! What a handsome chap 😍

Aah he looks so gorgeous and so huge compared to his baby pics! Hope his hormones don’t cause too much trouble and Caspy and him stay good buds xx

Thanks @alpacasqueak will have another go!

This is one I took last week, it's not very good but the computer seems to have eaten the ones I took yesterday. Will have to investigate when I've got more time!
How strange!
Just wanted a Nugget fix really as he’s such a beauty!:)):love: Grown so much but it’s more gorgeousness to love!:D x

Caspy and Nuggett are still together but having some fairly major dominance issues at the moment. The extra gids are on hand just in case to divide the cage if I absolutely have to. Nugget is now about 9 months old and those hormones are raging. Having been bitten by a previous cage mate Caspy's having none of it and will not relinquish top spot with out a fight, life in this house is a bit noisy and stinking at the moment. I took some photos today, they have a dandelion leaf each but they are squabbling over the same one - boars, who'd have them?

All the best for getting Nugget through it! Teenage hormones indeed! :yikes:

I hope your boys sort it out.ive a similar situation between 2.5 year boar and a 6 month old boar.the young one was rumbling and completely in Matthews face.i thought i would give him time out.as i went to pick him up....he has given me a nasty bite on my 3rd finger...blood every where !he looks like butter would not melt in his mouth !

I hope your boys manage to sort themselves out @eileen . I sat up until the early hours one night recently because they were doing nose offs, I really thought that was it but they did calm down eventually. It all starts when they both want the same thing or to stand on the same spot. They have a 5x3 C&C cage, 4 beds, 3 water bottles, 2 tunnels, 2 big piles of hay. They always want what the other has got, they remind me of human toddlers. Caspy is 2.5 as well, they have been quite good together since January it will be such a shame if they have to be separated now. They are sharing a hay pile like they are the best of friends as I type this, long may it continue!
I hope your finger recovers quickly, it's such an instinctive action to put your hand in the way.

They really are like naughty teenagers!

Christian says "who are you calling a naughty grey troublemaker? I am a handsome silver fox as are all the other male grey piggies and I am NOT a troublemaker thank you very much!" 🤣

Sorry beautiful Christian, definitely not aimed at you, you’re a sweetie! More my experience with naughty silvers at my house (this year especially and not just piggles!) :))
But you’re welcome to move in for a little while to cheer me up and change my mind! :D:love:x
