Nope, not a guinea pig in sight today when I went to check!

The only worry is that lots of pigs have been bought for children at Easter time and the school holidays.

I will be watching the adoption section in there and the surrounding stores in a couple of weeks time!

There haven't been any in P@H Ipswich for the last two weeks either.

It's Spring - people start to think about getting piggies / rabbits now the warmer weather is here and the lighter nights.

All the pet shops near me have been sold out of piggies or the piggies there are reserved.

On the plus side - more enquiries from people wanting to adopt rescue piggies!

A good time to start raising awareness that there are rescue piggies. Has anyone had any particular success in this area. xx

Yes, a great time to raise awareness of Guinea Pig Rescue ... I will be putting a few posters around locally.

I hope they not have all been brought for easter. Can I ask, the piggies they put up for adoption, do you have to pay for them? I have never thought about it before.

none in my pets at home either no g pigs or rabbits in either the shop part or the adoption part

They ask for a donation towards their pet charity fund - but they don't state an amount so you can give what you like

i'd end up adopting them all! when i get a house (if it ever happens), i'm going to get all the sows from worcesters p@h and say i wont donate untill i've been there a few times and they haven't had animals up for sale and then i'll make a huge donation! see what they say! sonny would love it!

Went into our Pets@home at Uttoxeter, none in there either, just stuffed rabbit toys and easter eggs in the empty cages.

perhaps they are not selling any pets in the run upto easter

teresa

i have heard that there is a nationwide shortage on g pigs and bunnies

I'm cynical enough to think perhaps they are just sold out or with the cold months now drawing to a close that the breeders aren't supplying as yet. I'm sure it will pick up soon enough and they will be back to selling small furries.

Definately not that they aren't selling them in the run up to easter. There are quite a few in the Sittingbourne branch and loads of rabbits too. The ones in the adoption centre do keep changing which gives me hope they have all found homes. Why do they have such tiny cages in the adoption centre and larger cages for the ones for sale. Is it to make you feel even more sorry for them?

The adoption centre is a con! I know my local store (not P&H) is doing by one bunny get one free! :a19:

I've been to two pet shops in 2 days and NEITHER have any guinea pigs. The one i went to today has PLENTY of rabbits though! I don't understand, i'm thinking because its easter and spring people are buying them. Last year the pet shops in my area all the rabbits went because of easter but now their seem to be more 8...

Lots of bunnies in Worcester pets at home today and one little brown piggie on its own.

Lots of rats in the rehoming section too.
