Hi!
I have been working on reintroducing veggies to my piggies over the past couple of weeks. After giving Stubbins some small pieces of red pepper yesterday, she has become quite ill. She is having a little bit of diarrhea and is having a difficult time using the restroom. I have just given her a dose of a probiotic to help her pass her poop.
Do you think that Stubbins will ever be able to have veggies again? I have tried everything possible, but it just seems like her body rejects any vegetable I give her. Is it possible to have a piggy stay on supplements instead of restarting veggies?
It is so hard to see her go through this, and I am really wondering if it is worth risking a medical issue over.
Thank you!

Have you ever tried her with a couple of sprigs of coriander? It’s milder on the stomach than other veg (and good vitamin c levels). I’m afraid I don’t know if she will be able to eat veg again, that’s something to discuss with your vet.

I've tried coriander, as well.
I'm so worried. :(

Please don't worry.
You have done an amazing job getting Stubbins this far with such complex problems.

Honestly if she lives the rest of her life eating only pellets and hay (and maybe fresh grass?), she will be fine.
Veggies are undoubtedly a wonderful thing to feed and offer a lot of nutrition, but actually guinea pigs can quite happily survive on a decent brand of pellet and unlimited quarries of good hay. Pellets actually contain all of the vitamins and minerals they need, just in a less bio-available form, but if that is all Stubbins can tolerate then she will still be getting exactly what she needs.
