Noises and weight loss

Congratulations on your new herd members. I think Bruno will probably be delighted, but we will have to see how the bonding goes. Your piggies have such a nice home, I'm sure they will love it. Good luck with the introductions ❤🐾🙏
 
Bruno was giving them both lots of love in the initial bonding stage. Currently witnessing screaming, mounting, chasing. Chattering from Bruno because hes a nightmare to bond, he was like it with Ozzy initially. Bruno chatters at Raven and Raven screams at him. Wren is just waddling around waiting for them to stop.

Can you post a video so we can assess if wished? You are likely already in the leadership contest stage.
 
You need to upload on a public setting in a place without a membership sign-in, like youtube, and then copy across as we do not have our own video upload.

It's not aggressive and that is just the most intensive form of sow whining - telling Bruno to stay off her as she is not ready/willing to mate which is he not taking very gracefully but it is still a teeth chatter in the 'I'm really miffed' milder range and not the 'I am totally fed up and you'd better take note' range.

They are obviously working out the group leadership between them. It goes in rounds. If Bruno loses, then he will go and try to dominate Wren as the hierarchy works from the top down.
My feeling is that Raven is likely going to come out at the top but Bruno has not yet quite accepted it at this stage.

Thank you for your reassurance, this is very nerve wracking! Wren has been following bruno around quite a bit, I think shes taking to him. Its just Bruno and Raven working it out right now. Really glad that it isnt aggressive, its very intense to sit through for a first time

I would expect that Wren is going to accept Bruno both as her hub and as the higher ranking group member once Raven and Bruno have sorted their ranking.

Bruno is miffed but he is obviously backing down and is not really pushing it (which could lead to a fail) from what I can read from the body language. I think that Raven is well on her way of standing her ground and becoming the leader of the new group.

Bonding can be very vocal; but I'd rather have it vocal than agressive with tussles.

They're peacefully eating together right now with random protesting from the girls, but its settling down a little bit. Raven is such a big girl and shes definitely letting him know her thoughts. I'd like to think some sort of progress is happening, its just very vocal progress

The fact that they interacting peacefully between dominance rounds means that the bonding is processing well - they still want to be together - and that Raven is likely to come out on top.

She's just going to reinforce for a few days until Bruno has got the message fully and she is confident and happy in her home. But it looks like the big hurdles accpetance and leadership sort-out have been taken. You'll know when Bruno has accepted that and starts to bother Wren in order to assert authority over her.

The hierarchy sort-out kind of travels down the ladder from to the bottom. Any piggies not involved between two piggies with adjoining ranking sorting it out or confirming it between them will stay out of it. I hope that this helps you? I would let them get on; if necessary overnight so they can get on with it.

There is no aggression in it so you need not worry.

This helps a lot, thank you. They have calmed down significantly and theyve been eating together. No huge noises from their interactions and we are being wheeked at for lettuce. Its looking a lot better on this end now, I know its far from over but its better. Thank you for being here for us during this time, to someone that has never done this before, I thought we were going to have fur flying. This being said Bruno and Raven arent there yet but they have calmed down quite a bit with each other

I'll attach the picture. Everything here is very quiet, every pig is asleep, partner is asleep. On Sue's timeline, if all is good in 3 hours we will have had success. Now to try and fight the sleep myself 😊 it's been lovely to see Bruno popcorning and happy squeaks and squeals again. Even if today has been emotional, its the lovely start to a new journey

I'm sure it was baby Wren, I was surprised at how much Raven weighed when I held her, she feels heavier than Bruno 😁 little chunky monkey. I used to hate taking pictures, she took it in the middle of asking us to say guinea pig 😆 but I don't mind anymore, I'd rather have the lovely memories rather than perfect hair on a photo. I had forgotten how fast little ones are, both girls have torpedoed the hay everywhere multiple times already, they have definitely made us smile as well as Bruno today
 
It's a great pic and you are doing a lovely thing giving a home to more guinea pigs in need of care and safety. I hope it all works out. It sounds positive!

Awww thank you 🥰 I really do hope so as well, I think they'll be lovely together once Bruno and Raven fully work out an agreement, they're doing really well
 
If you have a popcorning boar, you have a very happy piggy. Bruno has no intention of falling out with his new wives believe me... :)

All the rest is just the equivalent of piggy red tape paperwork. But the contract is signed as far as he is concerned.

With how badly he was doing, its amazing to see him doing so well like this. Hes been doing his happy wee wee wees as well. Be nice to see the girls settle in, they're very nervous right now but of course they are, new home and new husboar as well

Bruno is just happy to have company again. He still loves and misses Ozzy but being slave to two ladies is beyond his dreams...

But is always great to see a grieving piggy gain their sparkle again.

The girls will settle in that bit faster because they will take their cues from Bruno and they are used to human interaction from their time at the Caviary. . :)
 
I hope that you sleep well tonight... and with a lighter heart. It doesn't take away from Ozzy but it can balance the trauma of the shock somewhat.

Thank you, I think it will be a little difficult to sleep as well as I'd like to initially. I know how Bruno can be, I think I'm afraid of something breaking out even though it probably won't. They are eating together now in the hay, but Bruno definitely has a thing where he walks up to her and gets a bit challengey. We're splitting the last 4 hours into 2 shifts, so a nice bath will help if nothing else. I am missing Ozzy but I know he'd want his friend to be happy, seeing Bruno happy has given me a little bit more balance. Also can't help but laugh at Wren just doing baby things, seeing her running around at full speed is very heartwarming
