Hi all,

I've had my piggies for a few months now and they are settling in. In the cage they'll both let us stroke them without running off. When we get them out they'll eat from our hands etc but when we stroke them they sometimes make some noises and its hard to tell what they're feeling.. Are they enjoying it or are they distressed?

Thanks for any help!

That is great stuff about stroking them in the cage :) We still cant touch our 9 month old in the cage at all she legs it :))

Your piggies are fairly relaxed there, a little chatter that is all, they both seem relaxed on your lap. The top piggy especially, lying down :)

My Ginny makes noises like that constantly during lap time, even when she's lying down with chooken legs. She's such a chatter box. I use to worry that she wasn't happy but then she turns into a piggy puddle and I figured she must be ok lol.

That sounds like the 'happy pig noise' to me. Some pigs are more vocal than others. Out of the pigs we've had over the years, they have ranged from virtually silent to 'turn up the TV volume, please!'

We have a couple of super vocal girls who make noise the whole time they are being stroked.
I was told (by someone very wise on this forum in fact) that every piggy has their own range of noises, and to work out what they mean you need to look at their body language at the same time.
If they appear relaxed and comfortable then chances are they are.
