Went to the market to get some veg for the boyz.

I picked out a bunch of mud covered carrots with massive bushy tops - around 2-foot of foliage.

The lady went to snap the greenery off and I shouted: "Nooooooooooooooooooo, my guinea pigs will never forgive me if I go home with carrots without the tops."

Lots of people stopped, and stared at me :red :red :red
 
He he, Misty is not a massive carrot fan but loves the tops, so we have most of the carrots and she noms the tops! She does not have them that often so gets very excited! :))
 
Classic.
I went passed a veg shop with long green heads on the carrots and had to buy them for my boys. I told the women thats what get me to go into the veg shop. She said they are nice but got a odd taste ohhhhh errrrrrr. I thought I wouldnt eat them.
 
lol I was browsing stalls today and went to buy a bowl of the smallest tomatoes ever and the man said "try one love, they're delicious" to which I replied "urgs no thanks I can't stand tomatoes I'm just looking for treats for my guinea pigs"
 
In tesco I used to get " that's a very healthy basket! It's not for me it's for the pigs!" now I get " buying for your piggies again"!i think I'm known as the mad girl with lots of pigs in there now!
 
I spend ages in Sainsburys inspecting the organic carrots with tops, I don't even look at the carrrots, just want to get the best tops. :(|)
 
I cant find anywhere in the area that sells carrots with tops so i've started growing my own :))
 
Our local farm shop now keeps the carrot tops for me .... "that crazy women with the guinea pigs wants them" I heard them say to each other.... officially a sad slave

I was told by one of the girls in the supermarket that a lady comes in and buys 6 bunches of baby carrots and tops each week for her bunnies awwwww x)

I grow my own carrots in summer as well... last year the piggies ate them ALL!
