Junior Guinea Pig
Thank you. He was so beautiful and happy. I’m so sad his life was so short but I think he had a happy life with usSo sorry to hear about your sad loss. Norbert looks like a beautiful and happy boy.
Our beautiful piggie Norbert (aged 2) sadly crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday morning. He was such a beautiful boy. Rest in peace Norbert x
Thank you for your kind words. It was what I needed to hear. It is really difficult losing a young one and especially as before Norbert we lost another young piggie (Raymond 3 years).I am so sorry that your handsome Norbert had to leave for the Rainbow Bridge so soon and a time when a loss can be even more difficult.
It is always harder when you lose a young one - I have done it myself - but Norbert looks like a very happy and well looked after and loved boy who has been able to enjoy a happy piggy life, so you have clearly not failed him. We sadly never have control over when then, from what and under which circumstances the end comes.
I am sure that Norbert will have a firm forever place in your heart and that there will be a time when you can remember him with fondness and without pain.
Be kind with yourself in the coming days and give yourself (and your family if you have it) time and space to not be OK and to grieve. The grieving process is usually somewhat more complex than you expect. If you wish, you are welcome to open a support thread in our dedicated End of Life and Bereavement section where we offer ongoing community support for human owners and are also there for all the little questions about supporting bereaved piggy companions, help with finding ways in expressing your grief, memorial issues etc.
If it helps you to, mark the gap that Norbert is leaving at the turn of the year in some way; so you can acknowledge your sadness but then have also space and freedom to laugh and be merry - but without white elephant in your room.
