Hello!

I have two boars who are just about two.
Is it a normal thing for the daily popcorning to turn into rarely popcorning and the wheeking at everything to become basically nonexistent?

As they get older they will popcorn less. Mine are just three and only popcorn when I clean them out or I tell them it's hay time. That's okay though because I know they're happy :) As for wheeking, they could I guess. One of my boys didn't wheek at all until a pair of girls joined us. Are they otherwise okay?

Ahhh I see... that’s so funny heh!
Yes, otherwise ok. It’s just so hard to tell where the line is drawn at happy, content and bored! And I feel guilt like I need to do more for them to make them happy? But I do EEEVERYTHING! So I don’t know..

They have a companion of their own kind, which is the best thing you can do for them. As well as providing them with the space they require and lots of hay :D Have a look at the enrichment thread for more ideas.

Well, they are separated with a grid fence in between.. soon to be neutered to have a sow each. They have way too much space for their own good! Each guinea is in a 2 x 5 and they get the best Timothy hay! Thank you for that. :)

are there anything that defines an adult guinea pig being happy?

or am I being too paranoid about them not being happy?

I don't know what defines them as happy. It depends on the piggy, and you're best placed to know them. Not popcorning or wheeking isn't a sign of being unhappy though. Because as said, some piggies never wheek.

I'm sure they are happy and look forward to being husboars ;)

Well they used to wheek! I think they’ve grown out of it though and are too comfortable in knowing they are getting food. They already know I’m bringing it and when I come into the room they are already waiting haha and don’t say anything.

Thank you very much, thanks for your replies. I think I just think too much!
