I previously posted about my two boars that I had to separate. They've been separate for a while now and didn't really see each other during this time due to the cage set up. My c&c cage finally arrived and I've created a new set up where by they can now see each other through the bars. There's lots of rumbling and trying to nip each other through the bars (they can't get to each other!) But they are also trying to chew the bars.

Sorry that posted before I was done!

They are chewing at the bars. They take breaks go off, eat hay have a drink etc. I'm just concered about the bar chewing really. Don't want then to hurt their little noses! Does this tend to pass? The really timid one since seeing the other is out so much more now so I feel likes he's happier and appears more confident when we stroke him. Just want opinions really

Hi

These are typical territorial behaviours. Things should settle down mostly with in a day or two but you may want to cable tie or tie the divider grids with some robust string if needed, so there is no risk of a break through.

Thats good to know - hopefully they'll settle once they know they can see each other but their space is still their space! Yes have used cable ties, that was my thought too
