This is a really stupid question for me to have to ask, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Are guinea pig poos normally "wet" on the surface?

My pigs poos feel almost slimy, but there doesn't seem to be any obvious blobs of mucus on or with the poos. My pigs were doing very soft poos so I took them off fresh veg, and they seem to be the right shape and much firmer now, but I can't for the life of me remember what their healthy poos looked like before.

I tried googling and searching the forum but it's hard to tell texture from a photo, and I can't find any mention of "wetness" other than soft poos or passing mucus.

I find they're firm to touch and wet on the outside when fresh, but they dry out very quickly.

They do dry out, although I'm not sure what classes as quickly. I'll keep monitoring them and might try a little veg.

My boars are mostly dry when I clean them out but there maybe one or two fresh laid ones that are wet. Reintroduce veg very slowly, and as you say keep monitoring them.
