Normal?

I consider myself to be really close with my 2 piggies. But every month they go through a phase of not wanting to be held or stroked (usually I can hold them for over an hour and they fall asleep on me)

I just want to know if this is normal? Like do they hate me or is it that they just don’t want a cuddle once a month (pigeriod?)

I’ve never heard of that before but I would think it’s normal. Are you sure it’s not more often than once a month, and you just don’t notice?

My boys (dominant in particular) sometimes ‘demand’ attention. Then next time I may go to stroke them and they scarper

Most piggies will normally choose to be only cuddled for a short time when given the choice.
If your piggies do not want to be cuddled for so long, then please accept that. Your piggies will love and trust you more if you listen to their wishes and respect them.

My Meg is a very skittish piggy. I have had her since she was born (surprise shop litter) and she is very difficult to pick up even though she knows she goes on the grass every day atm. Also some mornings she is there waiting for her dandelion leaf breakfast and other days she runs off as if it's going to bite her. I take it at her pace. If she doesn't want me to pick her up with my hands, I herd her into a snuggle sack and pick her up that way. She is just a shy piggy with a high prey alert signal firing off in her brain. She knows I'll never hurt her but she also has her instinct which tells her "I must run away or I'll be eaten!"

This morning both wanted attention again came to be stroked and wheeking but last night they just wanted nothing to do with me. I guess maybe they just felt their instincts kicked in really badly
