HI! We are new two guinea pig owners. We have had them since Nov. 11 and they are roughly 5 to 6 months old. They have been together since birth. Sherlock seems to be the dominant one but now Watson seems to be expressing his dominance. Today, while in another room I heard a "racket" I went in to the next room and they were fighting like Watson was putting his head on Sherlocks. . I said Hey and then they broke up. they did it a few more times. We separated them a little and then notice Sherlock has a little bit of a bloody nose. It stopped quickly. We pet them both separately and then put them back in the cage. Now, we are scared to leave them alone. Advice please?

Just go ahead and put them together when you are home. Just read a book in the next room and pretend like you are not there. If they start to fight again, I recommend separating them. If they do not fight, do that a few more times over the next week (keeping them separated in between rounds) leaving them together for longer amounts of time.

If none of this works, you probably have too small of a cage and should get a bigger one, because male guinea pigs can be territorial

Hi! Your boys are currently at the height of their teenage hormone output. If it is just a shallow gash, then you do not have to worry. it doesn't count as a full-on bite in a serious fight.
Unfortunately all you can do at this moment is sit it out. The teenage months are not easy ones for any loving owner.
