I've been feeling quite a bit better today (although still exhausted) so I cleaned the pigs thoroughly, have switched buddy from fleece to shavings because he's a nightmare on fleece lol and did the nail clippings...

well 3 of 5 piggies got their quick clipped including poor buddy. Its not the first time I have done it but Buddy is only just building up a huge amount of trust in people and he seemed so traumatised (although not so much that he couldn't managed to snaffle coriander from my fingers the second it was waved under his nose). Peter was another one an my goodness, I barely clipped it but he squealed and squealed over it 8... I know he's a drama queen and he most likely wasn't in that much pain (he squeals when I clip nails whether I get the quick or not rolleyes) but I think after feeling like poop for the past week with this horrible bug that it was just too much for me.

I have actually sat and had a bit of a cry lol to top it all it was jemimas first nail clipping and my only piggy with black nails and I didn't get her quick at all phew!

awww hun dont be upset :( although I did my boys for the first time this week and it was major :...:... Ginos nails are jet black so I took a teeny bit off them and will take a teeny bit more off next week.

Piggies are a bit over reactive, so it probably didnt hurt as much as it sounded rolleyes

I absolutely hate doing their nails :...

I did mine today, it's a nightmare! Ziggy's back ones seem to have grown really quick since they were last done. She squealed a little when I attempted to nip a tiny bit off her front ones, I hadn't cut them too short but it must have squeezed the nail a bit :(

Then Daisy had hers done, which gave me a headache as she has the big wound on her leg so I was frightened to catch the stitches/scab in case I made it bleed when holding her rolleyes She has one black foot so I am always petrified of doing that one leg lol!

As for Chubbs, she'll have to wait for tomorrow so I can see what I'm doing in daylight..... :))

I think the tears were more an accumulation of things this week and I can laugh at myself now. Luckily Bea was forever the star, no fidgetting or squealing or fuss just lets me get on with it. Just never had such bad luck with cutting their nails

You did a great job not to make them bleed at all. I have sadly done this many times to my girls and felt so awful afterwards. It feels like you have been so cruel. Do not be hard on yourself.

HUGS!

Hywel is screaming away as soon as I just about touch his nails!

:{As long as you haven't caused any really bad bleeding, you will be fine and soon forgiven. But it certainly isn't the ideal job for when you are already feeling low... mallethead

oh bless you. Bertie doesnt mind his nails clipped, they are white so easy to do. But the yorkies are black and I just take a tiny bit off the end.
I also have a really old budgie and cant afford to take it to the vets every 3 weeks so just take a tiny bit off his beak, it grows into her chest if I dont. You should hear her create! Then there is m female finch I do her beak every month or so or it crosses over. I am sorry you are feeling low hope you feel better soon x

Oh poor you, I know how traumatic it can be. They do make you feel terribly guilty. I can't put off doing my lot any longer, so I will have that delightful job on the weekend.
I can see the quicks fairly easily on Rocket's nails and he's always been quite obliging but last time he made a right fuss and I had to get Husband to hold him for the front ones because he wouldn't keep still.

Moonpig's are quite curly at the front, it doesn't matter how often or how short I cut them, they always look like they haven't been done. :{
I have to wear my special nail clipping gloves for Moonpig too ( rose gardening gloves, suede, flexible but tooth proof! ).
Wally Whisker's doesn't like it but is usually okay about it. Bless him. x
