hi again .
I'm just asking as i am starting to worry. Raoule has been with me around a month now and hasnt touched his bottle once except for the time i was showing him what it was. i keep an eye on the water level everyday and no change at all. after the first three days i started getting worried so i gave him cucumber twice a day every day to make sure he gets sufficient water. i also leave his veggies wet after washing them for him. he gets four different types of veggies twice a day everyday along with unlimited hay and pellets but i still give him cucumber every time is this ok ? :-\ :-\

I have three piggies, two girls in one cage and the boy in another cage, and they never touch their water bottles. I was so worried I asked the vet who said that if they are getting enough veg they don't necessarily need water too. But I make sure their bottles are always fresh and full, and like you, mine have cucumber, as well as other veggies, twice a day (I take out whatever is uneaten morning and evening, and put in fresh). Of course, they have hay and "munchies" too.

I had a piggie that didn't drink, if they get enough veggies it should be ok, you can't make them drink.

wow ok thanks.. thats a relief :) guess he'll be ok then .. thanks alot for your help xxxxxxxx O0

As you leave the veggies wet for them they get sufficient water from that. If your piggies like cucumber, there is nothing wrong with giving it to them on a regular basis.
My piggies have waterbottles, but they rarely use them. Summertime seems to be the only time when they use the extra water available.
