So my guinea pig Cookie. Hasn't eaten all its pellets when he normally eats all of them he eats some of them but not all. Why is this?

How old is Cookie and how long have you had him? Is he a single piggy? Are you weighing him weekly?

There are many different reasons why he has gone off his pellets, so it would be helpful if you gave us a bit more background information, please.

Yes please could we have some more info. I remember him having issues before?

@Wiebke He is around 8 months. had him for around 7 months. I forgot to weigh him. Because my older brother accidentally took the scales (know clue why)

@helen105281 He has now recovered from the other illneses. Is still eating his hay and veggies and drinking. I forgot to mention he hasn't chewed any of his chew toys which he normally does chew.

It could be a dental issue or something like oral fungal?

Does his breath smell musty at all?
Is he mouthing when he eats?
Do his incisors look the same as normal?

If he is struggling to eat things that are hard he needs to see a vet.

what do you mean by breath smelling musty?
Also what does mouthing mean?
I haven't had a chance to check his incisors yet.

Does it smell like a damp dishcloth?

When he tries to eat is he opening his mouth and yawning as if it is hurting?

He's not doing anthing like that and also when I saw his anus today he had something mushy and light brown. But I was assuming he was about to poop? Also around the anus there was quite a lot of hairloss. is this ussuall? he 8 months old.

It may have been one of his special poos (the ones he eats). It is not really that usual no, does it seem red and sore at all? does he spend much time sitting in one spot?
