Last week my Guinea pigs stopped eating their Bob Martin My Little Friend meadow hay for two days running so I decided to buy a Timothy hay and replace it. They ate it for a few days but once more they haven't ate it two days running. Should I be worried? They've never had a problem before with the Bob Martin Hay so I assumed it was a dodgy bag but since they've not eaten their hay again, it's worrying me a bit. Didn't know if should have posted this in this section or in the health and illness section, but has this happened to anyone else and what did you do to help it?

How do you give them their hay?
I only ask because I use both a hay tray and a hay rack, and once the hay in the hay tray is trampled and has been peed on, they stop eating it and will only use the hay rack.

Also are you sure they really aren't eating any hay?
I am not sure how I would even know if my lot stopped eating it, as it is a difficult thing to measure.

What else are they getting in their diet?
If they really aren't eating hay then maybe they are filling up on otehr things like pellets and fresh food.

I use a hay rack, none of it has been pulled out, one of them is usually always on the top floor munching it on, they just haven't touched any of it, it's just as full as it was when I replaced the hay before. They get pellets and vegetables, they usually eat the majority of everything then start on the hay but they haven't been, I'm not really sure why they've just stopped.

Have you tried hay cakes? I get mine from B&M and my 2 love them.
Sorry for the late reply, I've been on holiday, they seem to be eating it okay now but I definitely will try the hay cakes if they stop, thanks! :)
