I have two sets of boys, and they usually love their hay.
Over the past few days one of my pairs have stopped eating as much hay, and are hardly eating any at all. I know this because the hay bin has hardly gone down at all.
I am using the same hay as i always have and they have never had any problems with it before.
My other pair are eating just as much.

Anyone know as to why they are not eating as much? Will this affect their health ?

How old are the boys?

Yes, if they are not eating hay there teeth may overgrow, as the main reason for hay, is to wear teeth down and to aid digestion.

Hay -- Vital to Good Health
Grass hay is a staple of the guinea pig diet. Providing unlimited grass hay is one of the best things you can do for the health of your cavy. Unlimited hay:

Provides the necessary fiber required by herbivores' digestive systems
Keeps teeth properly ground.

Because the back teeth are continually growing, cavies need to be constantly grazing and grinding to keep them a good length. Since hay is only a modest source of protein and nutrients it does not contribute significantly to obesity.

would you suggest changing the hay?
where can i get good grass hay from?
Thanks

Oxbow is a good grass hay but pricey, I would try another hay. Are you sure they aren't eating any?!

no they are eating some, just hardly as much.
I filled their hay bin about 2 days ago, and its hardly gone down.
They usually have to fill it up twice a day!

Ive just been watching them and they are having a munch as we speak though.
