have noticed today and yesterday - I put loads of the hay in all the piggies cages and apart from the girls, it doesn't look like the boys have eaten hardly any of theirs - reading that hay is the most important food they should have, not sure what to do? they eat their veg and dry food. I am using a new meadow hay, but i am mixing it in with the old stuff cose i dont have much left. Should I be worried if they are not eating much hay?

thanks...

Mine vary with theirs, sometimes they eat everything I give them, other times it doesn't look like they've touched it. If they're eating other stuff I'd wait and see what happens tomorrow - might take some getting used to the new hay, even if you're mixing it.

Hope all ok

They're probably just being picky piggies! Ours do that if we present them with anything even slightly below their normal timothy hay.

Is it fresh? Sounds daft but one time we had some timothy that smelt a bit musty, the piggies wouldn't eat it. Had to chuck it!

its seems fresh and smells fresh - they still not eating it, so am putting in lots more timothy hay with herbs, though that's not cheap - am already on second bag! they are fussy beggars mind u, wont eat this and wont eat that!
