Both guinea pigs arrived from the rescue on Saturday. They were weighed just before they left and they were Olga : 1004g she's now 804g Poppy was 708 now 656

They are eating the veg in the evening. Both appear to be eating hay and the water bottle ( which I change daily) is not really being drunk.

Both piggies have bright eyes and are moving round the cage quite happily.

The pellets are the same as they had at the rescue (Burgess excel with mint) they are having similar veg too.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Maybe adding some vitamins to the water may make it more appetising or worst case scenario I would advise giving them water via syringe as they need fluids- though watery veg like cucumber etc will help. As for the pellets maybe add treats in with them again to make them more appetising. And then worst case scenario make them into a mash or syringe feed them. However, if the weight does continue to drop or goes down again,I would see a vet as if left too long it could become problematic.

It may be the change of home, the other thing is if you give them Wet Vegetables so they are getting some moisture.
I wouldn't syringe feed unless really necessary.
They won't like going to a new home & then having a syringe stuck in there mouth, but if they don't.
Eat anything syringe feeding is the only option.
Maybe a change of hay they are fussy animals
Also l would get them to vet for a check.
You can ask them why they think your piggies are losing weight.
