Hi everyone

Please can you send your healing vibes.
Sammy my boar is 5 years old. He did not eat breakfast veg yesterday and had lost 150g. I took him to the vet yesterday who said he is not very well, seems to be general and his lymph nodes are up. His teeth, heart, lungs are fine, but he does suffer from Impaction (I think it might be linked to this)
I am syringe feeding him, this morning he has dropped 25g in the night and he is trying to eat some hay and veg but not as much as usual.

Sammy gets very stressed over little things (he screamed the vets down) and the vet suggested blood tests (but no garuntee of finding what is wrong) but I feel that this wouldn’t be in his best interests as he is very stressed and quite old now and I wouldn’t want to put him though unnecessary stress. I just want him to be comfy. The vet gave me baytril and metacam.

Please send you let warm wishes to my Sammy and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry your piggie is poorly.syringe feeding is difficult.maybe a prebiotic may help,as baytril can impact on there digestive system.hugs to you.

I’m sorry Sammy isn’t well. I’d keep syringe feeding him for a few more days. Then that will give the antibiotics a few days to get into his system and start to work. Then hopefully you will start to see an improvement. I had a boar once with impaction and it doesn’t usually make them ill and stop them eating. Sending healing vibes Sammy’s way. Good luck.
