I just got a new guinea pig and i notice that she wasn’t eating and won’t take food from me like the other ones I have had. She doesn’t really do much and stay hidden a lot. I haven’t even had her for 24 hours yet but her not eating worries me. Could it be just be she is in a new place and is nervous?

Yes, they are prey animals so they will stay hidden when they're unsure of their surroundings.

Place her food close to her hidey and she will eat it when you're not around.

Don't interact with her too much at first, she needs time to adjust.

Hi and welcome!

Guinea pigs are prey animals that are wired to live groups. If you have a single young guinea pig, she will feel it even more, as she heavily depends on the companionship of her mates and the guidance of her elders. Right now, she has been first ripped from her family at a mass breeder's, then from the company of her age mates at the shop without ever having had anything in the way of friendly human interaction and has been thrown into a completely foreign and potentially hostile place dominated by smelly giant predators.
Please leave her be and cover the cage with a towel to give her a feeling of protection. Place hay, water and food close to her hidey and leave her be. She will come out when she feels it is safe (i.e. most likely whenever nobody is in the room).
Please take the time to read our guides; they contain plenty of tips on how to avoid predatory behaviours and not trigger prey animal instincts. They also help you to use guinea pig behaviours to make friends in ways with her that she will instinctively understand.

The very best thing however you can do for her is a same sex mate for round the clock company, stimulation and assurance. Please double check the gender of both before you introduce them on neutral ground. Mis-sexing is anything but uncommon.

Time and patience are needed with guinea pigs. Excellent advice already given.
Please do get her a companion as soon as you can.
There’s good advice about bonding on the forum.
Welcome and looking forward to pictures
