My poor pigs, we are going through a bit of bad luck :(
Yesterday I noticed they were all scratching quite often, so I checked them over and they were fairly dandruff-y and Bailey had some hair loss on her tummy, so I did some research and have treated them with Ivermectin, hopefully that will sort things. They were squealing when I picked them up though, I hate hearing them in pain :(
When I got Nova out to treat her I noticed she has what looks like fungal underneath her ear so she's now booked in at the vets in an hours time...hopefully it's something that can be easily treated! I didn't put any Ivermectin on her just in case the vet prescribes anything for fungal...I'll ask them if it's ok to Ivermectin her too.
So I've spent my morning thoroughly disinfecting the hutch, bowls, pigloos and toys...and now I'm shattered!
I worry that because I'm not always around (uni being 170 miles away) I'm not looking after them well enough...my mum feeds and cleans them and keeps an eye on them but obviously not as vigilantly as I do...I'm coming home forever in May so have to hope there are no problems until then :(

Oh bless them, hopefully they will get better soon, best of luck at the vets xx

Sure all will go well at the vets dear.

Have a huge (((((HUG))))) to cheer you up. Won't be long beforer they are back to full health!

Thanks everybody :)
Just got back from the vets and she said it's either fungal or mites. She showed me some Mycozole spray...4 treatments...£25! So I just asked if I could use Canesten and she said that would be fine. She seemed impressed by my piggy knowledge hehe. She listened to her chest and said she was healthy, and weighed her...and then did the same to Luna, *** I brought her along as company :)
Now everypig just looks horrible where the ivermectin has been on their fur, so bath time in a few days I think! Hopefully all will be cleared up in a few weeks.
Her ear is very white and crusty so will keep an eye on that, as the other ear is beginning to get a bit crusty. I cleaned her ears though and there is no wax so at least there's no worry of ear mites!

Sorry to hear that your piggies are uncomfortable. One of my old boys, Fudgie, went through this aswell, but as the infection didn't clear up with Ivermectin, the vet then took samples and found out that it was ringworm. The treatment was good as it was medicine rather than cream (as Fudgie seemed so distressed and in pain when I tried to put cream on)... some syrup in a syringe was so easy to give! When he started to get better, his fur was growing back through the scabs which was apparently the sign that the treatment was working. If your piggies don't get better with the treatment you are giving, it may be worth seeing if its ringworm which is very contagious (to you too) so please remember to wash your hands after handling your piggies.
Good luck and I hope they are all feeling better soon.
