So cookie my guinea pig is not peeing but is pooping, drinking and eating fine?

If he is not peeing he needs to see a vet though I am a bit confused as you just updated your other thread to say he is ok.

If he is not peeing he will be in terrible pain. What makes you think he isn't peeing?

as the the bedding and newspaper and potty isn't wet as it normally is when he pees.

The other thread I said he is ok as in the squealing when being brush and drinking water.

Does he seem in pain at all? What is his behaviour?

Has he now done more than 7 poos?

If you are sure he isn't peeing then it is a medical emergency and he needs to see a vet tonight.

How would I know if he's in pain when he pees as at the weekend usually that's only time I normally see him peeing is around the same time as school time in my week. Yes he's done lot more then 7 and still no pee. My mum doesn't want to go to vet as she thinks he just peed somewhere i don't know and i know that's not true as i felt the hutch and it was really dry and he seems fine in every other way.

Could you ask your mum to read this thread please? Your guinea pig is sick and needs a vet. You cannot do anything for him other then take him to a vet. If your mum still refuses then the kindest thing to do is to hand him to a rescue were he can get help. Guinea pigs hide signs of pain or illness and when they display any unusual behaviour it means they are very sick and need a vet.

Has Cookie been on meds. Minky had this problem in December & she had been dehydrated so most of her water content was rehydrating her. Another sign of this is very little hard poos like apple pips. I think he definitely needs to see a vet to get to the bottom of it. In the mean time maybe let him have his food on a puppy pad & monitor him for poos & wees.

Nope cookie has never been on meds. i don't know his background as he came from a pet store. And what are puppy pads?

i'll try asking her again over supertime and then if she says yes we'll book apoitment when ever possible and we don't have rescues near me.

You will have an RSPCA, PDSA or blue cross. If your mum refuses then I urge you to give him to one of those as he has been poorly for a while now and it is very worrying.

You can buy them in most stores that sell pet supplies. It's sort of waterproof one side & soft white tissue like on the top side. I put one on the floor to monitor their poo & wee. If they've got a cage by them self you can also put them on the base on top of some newspaper. You can also buy children's training sheets/pads which are the same as puppy pads but larger. I buy mine mainly from Home Bargains.

i forgot about the RSPCA but i just hope she says yes this time to take him to the vet.I think the main thing is that she is quite busy with work this week and also i think its also because we have never been to a vets before as well as what i mentiond before.

Yeah I've gotten children's pee pads as well from any big supermarket.

I understand this is not in your control at all. I hope your mum does take him to the vet. Maybe showing her your posts on here will help her to understand how serious it is.

I understand too that it is your Mum that needs to make the decision but he really does need to be checked over. It is not just the peeing but all of the issues you have mentioned. Do you know how much he weighs? also how old is he?

Could you do floortime and see if he pees then? Perhaps his pee has just absorbed into the bedding?

If hes not peeing though then i agree that he needs a vet asap
