This evening I heard a piggie sneezing a lot, next I heard very noisy breathing. After some detective work I found Peanut struggling to breath hiding under the hay loft. I picked him up and blood was dripping out of his nose. He's been to the vets and saw a lovely lady who agreed with me that he has probably burst a blood vessel when he sneezed. He is on Metacamb to help stop any swelling. Poor boy is a bit miserable but his breathing has quietened down a lot now, he's hiding but I put some food in his house and he's eating some slowly. I am to keep an eye on him and to phone the piggie savvy vet tomorrow if worried. Peanut is not impressed with this aniversary thing, on my birthday he got a hay poke, on the other slaves birthday Bracken was admitted with bladder stones, he says it seems an odd tradition to visit the vet on special days, will we have to do it next week for Christmas?
Peanut's slaves hope not.

Happy Gotcha Day Sweet Hearts. XX

Thanks everyone, he gave me quite a scare. Peanut is eating and drinking fine this morning, he's been out for a wander round the room with Spike and took his metacam eagerly (he loves it). His breathing is still a little noisy but 90% better, they are both asleep in the hay box now. I'm still watching out for any problems but feel confident he's okay. Don't mind staying in on piggie watch today the weather is foul here!

Here he is this morning in Spike's favourite four poster bed. The amazing thing is Spike is letting him get away with lying here, although he doesn't look too happy about it. I think Spike will be pleased when Peanut's better and he can have his bed back. :))

Oh dear Spike does look fed up having to make do with the hidey! I think it's lovely he's letting his friend have the more comfy spot while Peanut is feeling rough.

Awww bless. How is Peanut doing today? x

He's almost back to normal thank you. Breathing a little noisy but you have to put your ear to him to hear it. He's making the most of looking sad and pinching Spike's favourite resting places. It was such a relief when the vet said his lungs sounded alright the problem was only upper respitory. He's such a sweetheart.

Poor Peanut.
Good to hear he’s feeling better now.
How are you after that scare?
Thank you.
I'm relieved and counting my blessings. It's such a shock when something comes out of the blue like that and blood always looks so much more than it is. Hearing him struggle to breath was horrible. Lucky my driver was home and the vets was still open.
