After loosing Marley on Monday leaving us with three single ladies (Lexi black and white, Doris chocolate agouti and Carol black and ginger), I've decided to try bonding them together. Today was only a look and see rather than a full blown bonding session as I want to start early in the morning so I can keep an eye on them for longer than I have today. It was less violent than expected as you can see in the videos so fingers crossed!

Good luck. Bonding is all or nothing. Everything looks normal. The squeaks seem to be the other pigs submitting. Is the teeth chattering pig your dominant one?

As mentioned above separating and reintroducing is more stressful/harmful than good.

Carol was the only pig not squeaking and she had face off's with both Lexi and Doris so I think she is aiming to be dominant pig. We are planning a proper bonding session for Monday with towels at the ready to throw over them if it doesn't work out. If it doesn't work then the ladies will be going dating in the new year as I don't think single life with interaction through the mesh is working for Carol or Doris.

All the best!

It started well, couple of mild lunges and lots of hay eating but then after about half an hour all hell broke loose! Carol got lunged at by Doris and while she was fighting a rearguard action she ended up near Lexi who started on her too. All this happened in the time it took me to lift my arms and throw my fleece jacket over them (I now have hay bits in the arms). I took Carol out and checked them all for damage. Lexi and Doris managed another half an hour before Lexi's friendly "can I sniff your side" ended up in another scuffle. They have all been separated and I'll have to look at Plan B. It's a shame really as Lexi was quite chatty with Doris (normal bonded talking noises).
