A little worried as my epilepsy isn’t really under control! I have a lot of seizures as it is but when ill and having high temperatures I have a lot more and can’t really find a definitive answer! I’m guessing I’m considered higher risk but not too sure as I don’t have chest/heart issues etc.
I can self isolate fairly easily (as I do it a lot anyway!) but not sure if I need to?
Spent a lot of the wknd at my mum’s after a couple of bad ones (and big swollen eyes from a possible allergic reaction, thought I’d punched myself again but swelling went down after 24hrs!) so I’ve already been out and around others but there are confirmed cases in my town now so 🤔
Not sure but as I live alone it’s just getting piggy veg I’d worry about really!
Thanks for reading, others opinions would be brilliant :)

I don't know weva you should self isolate, but don't worry too much about pig veg, nuggets have vit c and other vitamins and you can always buy some pro c vetark from pets at home to syringe feed. That's what I'm going to do. Stay safe 👍

Perhaps give 111 a call. I know they will be busy but I'm sure they will be happy to discuss your health in terms of taking extra precautions
Thanks @Lady Kelly , yes @SkyPipDotBernie said the same just now. Didn’t want to waste their time when probably incredibly busy but think I’ll have to for peace of mind. Can’t find much information but guessing not good for me if I catch it, will see what they say, thanks.

I’d self isolate if I were you. Whilst you’re not at risk of becoming severely ill by the virus, catching the virus could be detrimental to your health because of your seizures. I suppose in this situation it would be up to you, and what you feel is best for your health and well-being

Thanks for the replies guys :)
I’ve just called The Epilepsy Society helpline as 111 a bit of a nightmare, they’ve said the advice from them would be the same from the government and just to be extra vigilant with hand washing and staying distances away from people etc. But if I’m worried then self isolate as my seizures can get so bad, obviously like you say @Little Ones , it’s not that I’m at extra risk with the actual virus but think my seizures would go a bit on the mad side if I did catch it 🤪
My sister’s a carer for the elderly/people with dementia so with the confirmed cases in Rugby now I’m worrying a little! My poor gran’s already self isolating bless her (with lots of loo roll !)
Thanks @sport_billy ,the pigs have been playing with some newspaper this morning, might have been reading and have a bit of info too! :)):D

If you are worried, please ring the helpline for advice.

Stop worrying about piggy veg. You can still have doorstep deliveries; shops are staying open.

Ill Piggies on syringe feed have to often make do without veg for weeks and survive just fine. there is vitamin C in all food groups that piggies eat, including hay.

I'm lucky my epilepsy has been under control with medication for 2 years but I didn't even think of this! do you see an epilepsy nurse that you can phone up to ask about these things? I wouldn't self isolate if it's not necessary as it can take a huge toll on mental health and if we do all go into lock down you'll wish you made the most of this freedom while you had it. I wish you the best of luck and I hope your epilepsy is kind to you as it sounds as though you've had it rough.

Thanks so much everyone, really means a lot :hug:You guys are so great! Sorry seizure last night why I wasn’t on:mal:
Have decided to hide inside for now, at least until this really bad patch of seizures is over as more confirmed cases in my town now and just don’t want to risk breaking my brain!
My lovely sister left early to drop off a few bits of veg outside before work as I’m totally out bless her. Going to order some shopping soon and hope the supermarket isn’t completely out of stuff as all a bit mad in Rugby atm with clear shelves

I’m not sure if I still have an epilepsy nurse @Sweet Potato, changed hospitals a couple of years back and I just see my new neurologist a lot more and go to the GP if I need anything urgently. Should really look into it! 🤔Great your seizures are so controlled :D Mine used to be!

It’s Rosie my seizure cat @SkyPipDotBernie! :D Not as sweet and innocent as she looks!

Thanks a lot for your lovely offer @eileen xx

Aw thanks Gemma, yes sure they’ll keep me amused! And a good job I sleep so much during the day with my dozy tablets! Bit worried I won’t be able to get an online shop with all the mania but will give it a go soon! Or I’m eating the pig pellets and cat food, oh and porridge! :)) Hope you’re ok and Guiseppe’s doing well xx

Thanks so much, that’s so lovely of you! I’m in Rugby but think I might be sneaking to the 24hr Asda later when hopefully not too many people around! Then not leaving for a while! I’m going to sneak out for grass soon (I’ve got a shared garden) as most people are at work and piggy cage clean in order! x
