I just cleaned my guinea pig, Sophie's cage. When I was done and took her out of the carrier I noticed some brown liquid, almost as if diarrhea. There were other poop pellets in there but they were firm. I'm a little worried so any help would be awesome! :o

Is there anyway you could post a photo? Check her bottom and see if it is wet or soiled.

Does it smell?

Have you checked the carrier for urine? It could just be that Sophie has weed on her poo pile so what you are describing could just be urine.

Watery diarrhea usually smells bad and can be serious but I wouldn't have thought there would be normal poos too and I would imagine Sophie to look poorly.

Normal diarrhea has a paste like consistency a bit like tooth paste.

Sorry, can't post photo. when I got her out she had steped into the mysterious liquid. It did not smell and I checked her bottom when I got her out and she was dry! I have been giving her cucumber lately because where I live the tempatures are getting up to 100 degrees and higher. She is eating fine and I regularly giver her a health check (eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and bottom) She seems perfectly fine. She had not had a "liquid accident" in the carrier. I'm really puzzled of what the "mysterious liquid" is! Thanks for the help though!
