Well I am clearly a slave to the pets. Broke my promise to myself to get my ratty mug and instead the pets have stolen all my treat budget for September.

@Betsy did you at least get your piggy one?

I know how you feel, my piggies seem to know my PIN number off by heart now... Forever sneaking to the shops with my purse!

Nope not yet! Hoping to get it for my birthday which isn't to far away even if I have to buy myself a pressie ....
 
I had the same problem with my family especially when I had guinea pigs. I was laughed at by a former friend of mine a few years ago when I said I was thinking of getting GALS which he then instantly compared to a more traditional pet and that left me feeling pretty sad at the time because it felt as though I was being made fun of and that he was not taking me seriously just because I did not want a type of pet everybody else has.

Some "friends" you're better off without, and he sounds like one of them.
 
Well I thought maybe I could go a little over my treat budget and get my mug last night but guess what...I found something else for the rats instead so got that :whistle:. I am uuuusseelllleeess lol

Sorry but that does not sound like a friend to me at all and you are better off without people like that.

If my relatives critics my pets I honestly don't care anymore. I just tell them to look at their own lives before judging mine as I am sure I could pull some seriously bad faults of theirs but I don't.
If friends want to judge my pet choice then they are not my friend, you either accept my for me which include my pets or you know where the door is :coat:
 
That's exactly how I feel. I am what I am and who I am and if you don't like it you can lump it! Nobody is going to change me.

I know most people around me think I'm nuts! One friend interrupted me one day saying " enough about the gpigs" let's talk about something else!
I was a bit hurt, not realising I must have been boring her to death. Fortunately I do have a special friend who allows me to talk non stop about my furry darlings! Guess who I see most!

I really missed the rats today it was super stressful and my coworkers must get sick of me mentioning them. Where could I be found during a break? Watching rat clips in YouTube of course, trying to substitute for the real thing to wind down.
