I added a 2nd floor into the guinea pigs cage and they aren't going upstairs. :0 I tried putting food on it and putting them on it to show them they can go up and down. Should I wait for them to get used to it? I'm not sure what do do about it. {:|

Hi,
Mine use a ramp to a second level. My advice would be make sure its not too steep, make sure the ramp has something to give them grip on it and make sides for it.
If you've already done these then maybe scatter food on the ramp?
Mine all took to the ramp at different rates so they could just be being cautious,

Ah sorry I missed a few words in my post, I'm so tired. :)p

They have a ramp, it's pretty wide, not steep and I covered it with a cover. They don't seem too interested in it though at all which is my problem with them. They won't even go near it to notice the food on it. mallethead

I covered my ramp with a sock. They couldn't get grip on it without

I have a double hutch and was worried about how my guineas would adjust to the ramp. Then I saw cosy_cavies make a fleece tunnel, I had already bought some snuggle sacs off them on ebay. Helen is such a nice girl, she makes the tunnels to your specifications, you send her the measurements of your ramp and she makes the tunnel. She makes the tunnels with supports to make sure it stays up, a proper tunnel. It is absolutely a big hit, the guineas love investigating tunnels and it is really quite funny to see them emerging from the tunnel on the top floor. Helen supplies you with the velcro to attach to your ramp and the velcro on the tunnel attaches to it. You won't be disappointed if you contact her, it is the best thing I could have done. I am in the process of ordering a further two for spares. She has some fantastic designs of cotton material, and will line each tunnel with co-ordinating fleece. You should give her a try, I can't fault her. I have some very happy piggies who love to dart up and down inside the tunnel. And have been know to fall asleep in it too, it is very snuggly. I am not sure how to provide a 'link' but if you are ebay savvy, look her up.
