Not vibing with certain guinea pigs.

You know how you can go to the shelter and pick out an animal, but only if you feel connected to that dog? And you just click with it immediately.

Has anyone experienced the same with their piggies? Or piggies you’ve met.

My Ziggy didn’t click with his owner. She actually didn’t like Ziggy, but me and Ziggy get along great. Though, he likes hiding under his warm blankets :) he’s almost a year. He has a nibbling problem where he will nip you. But he came from petsmart- a tank full of males- of course he’s going to nip. He’s not bad with me though!
 
That's great! Does he have a cage mate? cause that would make a huge difference in how happy your piggy will be!
 
I had an instant connection with Nickel :) When I actually came on his adoption day, I saw that he wasn't in the cage he was in before and my heart sunk. Then I turned and saw him in a different cage! With Penny and Cocoa, I had a connection a few minutes after seeing them :luv:

Yes! He’s bonded with my Robin. They’re like two peas in a pod! :D

I have a bunny and took me a while to find that connection when looking at the selection. I found my Sailor in the back corner, the runt, and I immediately loved him...he loves me and we’re both connected.

I got Ziggy with his cage mate Robin. The couple couldn’t afford to keep them anymore. About a year ago (or less than, not sure.) I was at PetSmart, looking for some supplies for my rabbit. I always gawk at the “rodent” habitats because i love them. I saw this baby, a white Abby with red eyes. My mom and I chuckled at how wacky he looked. I said he looked like a toilet brush and we left. Fast forward to now, this couple has a white Abby with red eyes. When I met to adopt him the first thing I asked was, “let me guess...you got the white one at pet smart. About a year ago?” The guy said “yeah!” And that’s how destiny works I guess. I can’t believe it. He’s so beautiful and I love him to bits! I love Robin as well. Hate the name though...but the previous owner asked me to keep the name and I respect her wishes.
 
I have definitely had the feeling of connecting with a pet and feeling like, "Yep, you're the one." I felt like that when we got Leela... I had initially said I didn't want more pigs with white fur (because it shows up on our clothes, our furniture, pretty much everywhere, and is more noticeable than the pigs with darker fur), but I saw her and said, "This one." I felt the same with Frenzy and Hadley. However, I've also developed bonds where I didn't initially feel one... Sundae we got because she was basically the only pig available to adopt at the time and I ended up loving that pig (all her health-related issues only brought us closer!) And ironically, Linney was a pig I didn't really want... I picked Frenzy out right away, hemmed and hawed and ended up with Linney because the pig I initially wanted to get had a bit of a sticky eye and I was a newbie and wanted to pick one that was in the same enclosure as Frenzy so I wouldn't have to introduce strangers. And ironically, Linney was the best pig ever... I can't believe I chose her by default. She was just the best girl. Fate smiled on me that day!
 
I felt a connection with my sprite, but now it's definitely a love hate relationship, adorable but very mischievous
 
Yes! Same with my pigs, they were the only ones being brave and not hiding and they would come and sniff me! I knew that they were the ones.
 
When we got Lily and Luna my mom CLICKED with Luna. I often see her sneaking in to the piggie room to give her carrots or lettuce, my mom is also the only one that can hold Luna without her going crazy :)
Sometimes there's just a connection :)))
